ACH/Draft Assistant

Heartland Credit Union is looking for a Full Time ACH/Draft Assistant to process the Automated Clearing House (ACH), draft files and NSF reports accurately and efficiently. The successful candidate will be an analytical, detail-oriented, and motivated individual. This position is responsible for ATM balancing, Remote Deposit Capture balancing, back up all ACH functions and other Accounting Department positions.

LOCATION

The person will work from our Support Center, located at 4000 North Monroe in Hutchinson, KS.

SCHEDULE

Normal office hours, Monday - Friday.

DUTIES

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Retrieves and processes daily draft files, including the creation and review of the Non Sufficient Funds (NSF) file.
  • Responsible for ACH backup and various ACH duties to properly maintain dual control.
  • Responsible for daily ATM posting and balancing.
  • Responsible for daily Remote Deposit Capture (RDC) check reviews, posting and balancing.
  • Investigates and resolves ACH, draft, RDC and various other errors or discrepancies.
  • Receives member and branch phone calls and resolves inquiries or refers appropriately.
  • Reviews and balances various reports and documents.
  • Sets up and maintains miscellaneous spreadsheets.
  • Posts to and reconciles all assigned general ledger accounts.
  • Attends and participates in meetings and training as required.
  • Actively contributes to positive, professional working environment.
  • Provides superior service to staff, management and volunteers.
  • Pro-actively supports and advances HCU's culture.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • High school graduate or equivalent.

EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE:

  • Familiar with related accounting procedures.
  • One year of related experience preferred.

SKILLS:

  • Well-organized and attentive to detail.
  • Able to meet deadlines and manage tasks
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to understand and interpret policies and procedures.
  • Willingness to assist others.
  • Able to operate related computer applications and PC.
  • Proficient in MS Office including Word, Excel and Outlook.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Sedentary work, sitting most of the time.
  • Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally.
