Heartland Credit Union is looking for a full-time Account Resolution Assistant to work in Hutchinson and establish contact with members to seek a mutual solution for delinquent issues that will benefit both the member and the credit union.

WORK DETAILS

This position is in-person and will work at one of our Hutchinson branches, located at 900 E. 23rd Ave. Office hours are Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm. No weekends required.

ABOUT THIS POSITION

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following activities:

  • Monitors and follows up on delinquent and overdrawn accounts to cure loan delinquency and restore accounts to a positive status.
  • Reviews the charge-off queue and contacts members to discuss next steps, including settlements and payment arrangements.
  • Prepares and assist in the preparation of legal documents, including repossession titles, small claims dockets, bankruptcy filings, reaffirmation agreements, and more.
  • Initiates and oversee ongoing legal proceedings, such as attorney demand letters, complaints, stipulated orders, forbearance agreements, and post-judgment actions.
  • Posts payments on delinquent loans, credit cards, charge-off accounts, and for members enrolled in debt management programs.
  • Monitors and track recovery payments on charged-off accounts to ensure data accuracy and compliance with legal agreements and court orders.
  • Processes incoming bankruptcy filings, ensuring proper documentation, file maintenance, and the relay of relevant information to legal.
  • Reviews and recommends repayment solutions, including completing hardship request documents for extensions and modifications.
  • Follows up on accounts to track progress and ensure payment arrangements are honored.
  • Prepares and submits garnishment requests in collaboration with legal counsel.
  • Conduct skip tracing, as necessary, to obtain contact information in order to contact delinquent/defaulted members. Employs additional recovery methods to minimize losses for the credit union.
  • Collaborates with management to resolve complex and non-routine member issues, ensuring minimal loss to the credit union.
  • Assists with account resolution collection efforts as needed.
  • Ensures collections efforts comply with HCU policies and procedures and ensures they are legally compliant.
  • Serves credit union team members promptly and professionally.
  • Attends meetings and training sessions as required.
  • Provides superior service to members and staff.
  • Pro-actively support and advance HCU's brand platform.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS FOR POSITION

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Previous collection experience preferred.
  • Previous experience working in an office environment is preferred.
  • Accuracy and thoroughness in work.
  • Excellent communication, telephone, and public relations skills.
  • Ability to work well independently.
  • Ability to work well in stressful situations.
  • Able to operate related computer applications and PC.
  • Proficient in MS Office including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Flexible and open to change.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Stationary for extended periods of time.
