Heartland Credit Union is looking for a Consumer Operations Manager. The ideal candidate will provide leadership and a driving force for Heartland Credit Union's consumer deposit services, organizational document management and consumer loan processing functions.

WORK DETAILS

Department Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, Saturday 9 am - Noon

NO evenings or Sundays!

ABOUT THIS CONSUMER OPERATIONS MANAGER

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following activities:

• Assists Senior Management in developing and implementing short- and long-term objectives, goals, and strategies. Provides input for budgeting. Conducts research and provides suggestions and recommendations.
  
• Executes established goals and ensures that corporate-wide plans are complemented and supported.
  
• Ensures deposit and operation services are delivered in accordance with established HCU standards, policies, and procedures. Ensures that applicable laws and regulations are adhered to.
  
• Oversees the retrieval, review, and processing of IRA/HSA documents and reports from staff and HCU's IRA vendor.
  
• Manages paper document retention program; prepares and files paper documents in preparation of vault storage, keeps vault area organized; provides members and staff with assistance when research is needed.
  
• Tracks individual progress and conducts performance appraisals on each employee based on performance management program guidelines. Provides coaching when needed.
  
• Provides training and applicable information related to IRA/HSA, wire requests, scanning/indexing and loan processing requirements to staff and members as needed.
  
• Assists in researching and resolving department errors and discrepancies.
  
• Ensures that members and lending staff are informed of any issues regarding loan documents and any issues are resolved quickly to ensure a quality lending process.
• Attends meetings and training sessions as required.
• Provides superior service to our members.
• Pro-actively support and advance HCU's brand platform.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS FOR CONSUMER OPERATIONS MANAGER

• Two year college degree in business, finance, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
• A thorough knowledge of Account, Loan and general Deposit Services operations and procedures, and security requirements.
• Thorough understanding of credit union operations, including opening and closing accounts, loans, share, IRAs, HSAs, and certificate procedures.
• Understanding of credit union philosophy.
• Knowledge of basic accounting.
• Three to five years of progressive experience in operations positions.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to understand, interpret, and enforce policies and procedures.
• Professional appearance, dress, and attitude.
• Solid math skills.
• Ability to operate related computer software and business equipment.
• Stationary for extended periods of time.
