Heartland Credit Union is looking for a Credit Analyst. The ideal candidate will ensure that all loan applications are processed efficiently and in compliance with established policies and regulations. This role will be responsible for evaluating and analyzing loan applications to assess applicants' creditworthiness and make informed lending decisions.

WORK DETAILS

Onsite Office at Support Center 4000 N. Monroe Hutchinson, KS

Work hours: Tuesday - Saturday from 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

No evenings or Sundays!

RESPONSIBILITIES FOR CREDIT ANALYST

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following activities:

• Monitors the queue for incoming loan applications to ensure prompt and efficient processing.
• Evaluates and verifies loan applications and credit criteria, approving loans within designated authority limits and promptly notifying front-line staff of decisions.
• Calculates loan terms, finance charges, and insurance to ensure accurate disclosure on promissory notes.
• Reviews loan application packages and provides recommendations to front-line staff regarding cross-sell opportunities.
• Ensures lending operations comply with HCU policies and regulatory requirements, maintaining proper documentation for all loan requests.
• Evaluates and makes decisions on loan deferral and modification requests.
• Determines approval for Instacheck limits, BillPay limits, and ACH limits.
• Maintains and updates the underwriting guidelines and procedures manual, along with rate sheets.
• Reviews appraisals for HELOC and MBL/Commercial Loan Department to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Provides superior service to our members promptly and professionally.
• Pro-actively support and advance HCU's brand platform.

REQUIREMENTS FOR CREDIT ANALYST

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field; or equivalent experience and training.
• Understanding of related legal and regulatory standards and required loan documentation.
  
• Knowledge of consumer and residential lending practices. Previous lending experience or experience
• Excellent interviewing, communication, and public relations skills.
  
• Well-organized and attentive to detail.
  
• Data analysis and reporting
  
• Able to meet deadlines and manage projects
  
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  
• Able to operate related computer applications and PC.
  
• Proficient in MS Office including Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Stationary for extended periods of time.
