Heartland Credit Union is looking for a full time Draft Specialist to process draft files and NSF reports, including the preparation of documents and related reports and performs balancing as needed. The successful candidate will be an analytical, detail-oriented, and motivated individual. This position is responsible for Remote Deposit Capture, billpay, and incoming and outgoing wire processing, including management of the wire log and related member transfer agreements. Backs up all ACH functions and other Payment Solutions positions as assigned. Performs related clerical duties as needed. Professionally serves members and vendors. WORK DETAILS

Location: In office, at the Support Center, located at 4000 North Monroe in Hutchinson, KS. OR our Maize branch located at 3777 N. Maize Rd., in Wichita.

Hours: Monday - Friday 8am to 5pm

RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

• Retrieves and processes daily draft files, including the creation and review of the Non Sufficient Funds (NSF) file.
• Responsible for ACH backup and various ACH duties to properly maintain dual control.
• Responsible for daily Remote Deposit Capture (RDC) check reviews, posting and balancing.
• Investigates and resolves ACH, draft, RDC and various other errors or discrepancies.
• Reviews outgoing and incoming wire requests and processes promptly, ensuring security procedures have been followed by all staff.
• Assists, serves, and informs related departments as needed.
• Receives member and branch phone calls and resolves inquiries or refers appropriately.
• Sets up and maintains miscellaneous spreadsheets.
• Maintains basic working knowledge of HCU's products and services. Refers members to appropriate departments.
• Completes required reports and related documents promptly and accurately. Ensures reports are made and submitted according to established regulations and deadlines.
• Draft, RDC, billpay, and wire processing functions are efficiently, effectively, and accurately performed in accordance with established policies, standards, and program requirements.

REQUIREMENTS

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Familiar with related accounting procedures.
• One to two years of related experience preferred. Well-organized and attentive to detail.
• Able to meet deadlines and manage tasks
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills
• Ability to understand and interpret policies and procedures.
• Willingness to assist others.
• Able to operate related computer applications and PC.
• Proficient in MS Office including Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Sedentary work; stationary most of the time.
