Heartland Credit Union is looking for a full-time Financial Analyst to work at our Support Center branch in Hutchinson. If you are skilled in using data and technology for accurate, timely reporting and analysis, then this is for you. A successful Financial Analyst is responsible for providing senior management and executives with the analysis and information they need to make major operational, financial, and strategic decisions. In addition, this person will actively partner with internal and external stakeholders to develop innovative solutions and insights using business data and analysis tools. LOCATION

The person will work from our Support Center, located at 4000 North Monroe in Hutchinson, KS.

SCHEDULE

Normal office hours, Monday - Friday.

DUTIES OF FINANCIAL ANALYST

The Financial Analyst reports directly to the CFO and will be instrumental in the improvement of current data sets, metrics and reports and the development of dashboards and insights for the credit union. In addition, this person will actively partner with internal and external stakeholders to develop innovative solutions and insights using business data and analysis tools.

  • Assists with the administration and operation of the credit union's asset/liability management, profitability, budgeting, and financial reporting software, including the monthly update.
  • Projects ROI, product margins, and other financial models and evaluations, and reports analyses to Senior Management.
  • Designs and implements procedures to track investment performance and reports findings to Senior Management.
  • Manages budgets, tracks allocated funds compared with actual expenditures, and makes recommendations for adjustments.
  • Responsible for creation and maintenance of departmental reporting, management reporting, board reporting and other reporting as assigned. This includes meeting with various departments to determine their reporting needs and creating processes for data collection where necessary.
  • Records and reports decision making rationales, financial analyses, and corporate actions to assist in future planning.
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory financial reporting requirements.
  • Prepares agendas, coordinates meeting times, oversees reporting, and ensures that minutes are recorded and preserved for committee assignments.
  • Ensures the timely maintenance of financial reports, insurance forms, investment evaluations, and miscellaneous documents as required.
  • Attends and participates in meetings and trainings as required.
  • Actively contributes to positive, professional working environment.
  • Provides superior service to staff, management, and volunteers.
  • Pro-actively supports and advances HCU's culture.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR FINANCIAL ANALYST

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related field.

EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE:

  • Minimum 2 years of financial analysis experience.
  • Experience with various database and business intelligence tools, such as Power BI, for example with data structures and the ability to join/integrate tables in order to provide the necessary data for analytics and/or reporting is preferred.
  • SQL database experience preferred.
  • Experience assisting stakeholders with using data and reporting to develop innovative solutions
  • Thoroughly understands corporate financial analyses and risk management practices.
  • Understanding of general marketing principles and pricing strategies.

SKILLS:

  • Strong communication, technical, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Able to organize, coordinate, and direct projects while meeting deadlines.
  • Well-organized and attentive to detail.
  • Ability to understand, interpret, and enforce policies and procedures.
  • Able to operate related computer applications and PC.
  • Proficient in MS Office including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Flexible and open to change.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Valid driver's license.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Sedentary work, sitting most of the time.
  • Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally.
