LOCATION

This person will work in Hutchinson or Wichita from one of our retail branch locations. Some travel to other branches may be required.

SCHEDULE

Monday - Friday, office hours. Some after hours and/or weekends may be required.

ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY

The Information Security Analyst will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of security solutions that protect the company systems, as well as monitoring HCU's enterprise network for security events.

Responsibilities include:

• Monitors the HCU's cyber security activities of network(s) including all related client, server systems, 3rd party VPN's, and provides guidance as needed.
• Provides Management with direction regarding security, network and telephone system applications and development.
• Characterize and analyze network traffic to identify anomalous activity and potential threats to network resources.
• Document and escalate incidents (including event's history, status, and potential impact for further action) that may cause ongoing and immediate impact to the environment.
• Perform event correlation using information gathered from a variety of sources within the enterprise to gain situational awareness and determine the effectiveness of an observed attack.
• Perform security reviews and identify security gaps in security architecture resulting in recommendations for inclusion in the risk mitigation strategy.
• Notify designated managers, cyber incident responders, and cybersecurity service provider team members of suspected cyber incidents and articulate the event's history, status, and potential impact for further action in accordance with the organization's cyber incident response plan.
• Monitor external data sources (e.g., cyber defense vendor sites, Computer Emergency Response Teams, Security Focus) to maintain currency of cyber defense threat condition and determine which security issues may have an impact on the enterprise.
• Perform cyber defense incident triage, to include determining scope, urgency, and potential impact, identifying the specific vulnerability, and making recommendations that enable expeditious remediation.
• Perform initial, forensically sound collection of images and inspect to discern possible mitigation/remediation on enterprise systems.
• Serving as liaison to the Independent IT Auditor for quarterly assessments.
• Writing assessment responses for management and board review.
• Attends and participates in meetings and training as required.
• Actively contributes to positive, professional working environment.
• Provides superior service to staff, management and volunteers.
• Proactively supports and advances HCU's culture.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION/CERTIFCIATION

• High school graduate or equivalent.

EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE

• 3+ years of related security experience.
• Strong security background experience preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft365 management preferred.

SKILLS/OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to operate necessary testing and repair equipment.
• Good research and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent logic and reasoning skills.
• Ability to work well independently.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to understand, interpret, and enforce policies and procedures.
• Able to operate related computer applications and PC.
• Proficient in MS Office including Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Flexible and open to change.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Sedentary work; sitting most of the time.
• Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally.
