Heartland Credit Union is seeking a Project Manager who enjoys collaborative problem-solving. This role is responsible for planning, execution, monitoring, reporting, and completion of projects, while ensuring timely, scoped, and budgeted delivery. Works with cross-functional teams, vendors, and stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes and improve project management processes. Ultimately, you will be responsible for formally closing projects, ensuring all documentation is complete, and delivering outstanding results that align with our customer-centric mission.

WORK DETAILS

This person will work from our Support Center, located at 4000 N Monroe St. in Hutchinson.

Typical schedule is 40 hours, Monday - Friday with a flexible schedule. Must be available for scheduled meetings before and after normal business hours. On occasion there may be some evenings and weekends.

RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THE PROJECT MANAGER

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following activities:

  • Develop comprehensive project plans, outlining timelines, tasks, responsibilities, milestones, resources, and deliverables.
  • Lead cross-functional project teams, fostering collaboration and communication among departments for successful project delivery.
  • Serve as the central point of contact for all project-related communications, managing expectations and addressing concerns from management and stakeholders.
  • Engage with vendors and third-party service providers to gather necessary resources, managing contracts, deliverables, and expectations.
  • Facilitate and document meetings, status updates, and project reviews to keep teams and management aligned and informed.
  • Track project performance against established goals, deliverables, and key performance indicators (KPIs). Report on progress to management and stakeholders.
  • Manage project budgets and ensure projects are delivered within financial constraints.
  • Identify, communicate and mitigate project risks, issues, and roadblocks, implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Continually identify opportunities to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and collaboration within projects and across departments. Contribute to the development and refinement of project management processes, tools, and methodologies.
  • Maintain general understanding of vendor management procedures, including due diligence, contract reviews, invoicing, and vendor accountability.
  • Provides superior service to our members promptly and professionally.
  • Pro-actively support and advance HCU's brand platform.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
  • Attends meetings and training sessions as required.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE PROJECT MANAGER

  • College degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Professional certification - including PMP or comparable certification in Project Management preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of project management cycles and standards.
  • Two or more years of related experience in credit union practices.
  • Two or more years of project management experience.
  • Well-organized and attentive to detail.
  • Critical thinking.
  • Data analysis and reporting.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate.
  • Negotiation and persuasion.
  • Strong time management.
  • Able to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Willingness to assist others.
  • Able to operate related computer applications and PC.
  • Proficient in MS Office including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Flexible and open to change.
  • Sedentary work; stationary most of the time.
